today i am goin to start making my fire escape, i have worked out it would consist of cubes and cylinder so once one is UV mapped it would be easier to make the fire escape.

Now lighting is fully done I can test every area of my white box level so I can make sure nothing is out of proportion and there are no gaps in between the buildings where there shouldn't be.
Today I have tested the level for gaps and also to see if the lighting fully works and im now going to start researching fire esacapes.

Today I am going to add the first set of proper lighting to my white boxed level so I can see the whole level not just small sections and also a lightmass importance volume so when I build the lighting it doesn't take forever. Also this week I am going to look for some textures for my level.

I have now got a final idea on how I want it to look and all the design work is now out of the way, I now need to white box my level but only the floors and main building outlines this will allow me to create a playable area in which I can run and look around the blue and white check level. Once the white box version is done I need to test for gaps in the Bsp geometry. Also I am going to add a skydome to cover up the black space and give the white box version a bit of atmosphere.

After a week of reasearch I have come up with some sort of idea on what I want to create. I want to create a parade day style of level but on a foggy day which will make it a bit eerie. what i need to do now is create floor plans, a design document, placement of actors and assets, placement of volumes and paths.

Today I got the level design brief. The specifications for the level are as follow:
You are to produce a roof top deathmatch level set in New York City. This level should be set in day light. The level should allow up to 8 players to play and feature opportunities for cover opportunities, run and gun and sniping. The visual style of the game should be similar to games such as Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days and Rainbow 6: Vegas. The level should be rendered in a photo realistic style.
Now i need to go and research different New York rooftops, and different objects on rooftops anyway and also rooftop textures.
